RESIDENTIAL COORDINATOR


The overall responsibility of this position is to establish and maintain quality residential services which are in keeping with TILL's philosophy of active participation for all individuals. The following is a list of responsibilities. Although he/she may delegate some of these responsibilities, the Residential Coordinator is accountable to the Assistant Director of Residential Services for their final implementation and monitoring. Since the nature of residential services prohibits completely defining all of the specific duties of the position, it is understood that responsibilities may be added to this list as circumstances warrant.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1.    Hire and supervise Residence Managers.

2.    Develop a workable and efficient staffing pattern together with the Residence Managers.

3.    Ensure the implementation of residence policies as established by TILL, Inc., as well as policies specific to each residential site.

4.    Provide staff supervision on clinical and residential management issues.

5.    Perform staff evaluations as outlined in TILL's policy manual.

6.    Ensure that the residential services conform to DDS/QUEST requirements.

7.    Ensure proper completion of all paperwork necessary for HR, Facilities and Accounting, in a timely basis.

8.    Maintain necessary communication with local, area, regional, institution, and other appropriate agency personnel.

9.    Participate in supervisory and administrative meetings.

10.    Work with management staff to ensure implementation of ISP goals and proper record keeping.

11.    Oversee budgets and accountability systems.

12.    Serve as a role model to staff in the implementation of individual’s teaching plans.

13.    Involve staff in the overall goals and institute procedures for involvement which encourages good staff morale.

14.    Meet bi-monthly with the Assistant Director of Residential Services for supervision and discussion of clinical and administrative issues.

15.    Conduct staff interviews and assist in hiring all residential employees.

16.    Coordinate overall clinical supports with Clinicians, Managers and Directors.

17.    Maintain accurate financial and utilization record keeping systems which are in keeping with allowable expenses and funding levels.

18.    Maintain a good working relationship with individuals’ families.

19.    Attend weekly staff meetings.

20.    Be available for emergency coverage of the residential sites.

 21.    Make suggestions and recommendations as to the hiring, termination, advancement, promotion or any other change of status of   other employees.

 22.    Organize and facilitate monthly cluster meetings with cluster managers.
    
23.    Arrange for, and, in some instances, directly provide in-service training programs.
    
24.     Maintain a good public image in the community.
    
25.     Assist in conducting internal program evaluations.
    
26.     Attend in-service training sessions.
    
27.     Work with the Assistant Director of Residential Services and Director of Residential Services on other responsibilities related to the enhancement of individuals’ abilities and agencies goals for the residential sites.

28.    Assist at other programs to provide direct care and medication administration as assigned.
    

QUALIFICATIONS:
    
Minimum BA/BS in Human Services, Psychology or related field. Direct care experience with individuals who have developmental disabilities required.  Supervisory experience in residential setting required, along with progressive responsibilities in administration, hiring and supervising staff, and working with state agencies. Current driver's license and car are required. Must possess good writing and oral skills to effectively communicate individuals’ needs and objectives as well as for providing training and supervision to staff. These essential programs may include lifting individuals, passive restraints and hand-over-hand assistance. Medication Certification, CPR and First Aid are a condition of employment.
