Description
TILL is a human services company that provides essential support to adults with developmental disabilities, learning differences, acquired brain injury, and other specialized needs through a wide range of housing options, from structured, staffed, small group living to individualized support options.
The Respite care provider is a direct care role. Flexible schedule.
Responsibilities
• Report the needs of residents and staff to supervisor
• Work with DDS referral source to accept (or not accept in some cases) referrals in a timely basis. Responses to referrals must be immediate, however, scheduling of the referral may not occur immediately depending on the configuration of residents at that time
• Promote a warm and home-like environment for both the individuals and staff
• Ensure proper utilization and documentation of goods in the home
• Ensure daily operations of the home are running smoothly, efficiently, and in a manner that promotes the health, safety, and program needs of both individuals and staff
• Promote proper training of new staff members
• Implement service plans set by the clinical team for each individual
• Maintain appropriate contact with families and/or guardians of the individuals
• Set and accompany individuals to medical, legal, and personal care appointments
• Establish activities both in and outside of the center. Run such activities during the day and evening and/or weekends hours
• Provide direct care as indicated on the weekly schedule
Qualifications
• A BA/BS in human services, psychology, sociology, special education or related field preferred but not required, experience will be considered in lieu of education
• minimum of two years of working with individuals with developmental disabilities and mental health issues
• Medication Certification, CPR and First Aid are a condition of employment
• Drivers’ license and vehicle are required
• Good written and verbal skills essential
• Essential programs may include lifting individuals, passive restraints, and hand-over-hand assistance
