DESCRIPTION:
Seeking Assistant with energy, drive, and creativity to help mold, shape and implement an exciting new mobile program in Maynard area. TILL On The GO was developed to provide meaningful and productive activities to support engagement and skill acquisition for people who can benefit from a flexible model, which is not site-dependent, but rather in open settings within the community. TILL On the Go offers employment, apprenticeship, or just a great way to spend the day, build on skills for independence, have new experiences, and expand social connections with peers. The primary responsibility of this position is to assist to maintain a quality mobile day program which includes helping coordinate programmatic operations, and implementation of all individual support plans.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Provide support to all individuals referred to TILL On the GO. Assist in plan development and with transportation, activities, and education.
- Assist in the day to day supports of enrollment with individuals to maintain daily capacity.
- Assist in Coordination of a mobile program with a focus on the Maynard Fine Arts Theatre, TILL Farms, and many other community locations.
- At Maynard Fine Arts help in to plan, organize, and facilitate daily program teaching of operations of the Theatre, an onsite Creamery, concessions, cleaning and maintenance, customer services and general work habits.
- At TILL Farms and other locations help plan training engagement with site specific learning experiences.
- Assist with van service and help supervise transportation including van routes.
- In the absence of the Supervisor, supervise TILL On The GO Assistants/Drivers, consulting instructors, and volunteers. Help plan schedules, and to assign staff to meet needs of participants. Help ensure required levels of support.
- Help create administrative and participant records.
- Participate in required social services and state licensing training; follow all policies and procedures to ensure a safe and supportive environment at all times.
- Develop and sustain positive relationships with individuals, families, residential staff, funding agency representatives, and community contacts.
- Serve as an advocate for all individuals enrolled and seek opportunities to help each individual develop talent, learn new skills and flourish. Perform duties that ensure the health and safety of the individuals.
- Attend orientation, in-service and required trainings and regular staff meetings as instructed.
- Maintain and monitor professional demeanor and conduct including punctuality, attendance, appearance and programmatic interactions.
- Follow the regulations, policies and procedures as outlined TILL, Inc. and by the funding agencies responsible for licensing and certifying the program.
- Complete any physical maintenance duties as may be assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to work collaboratively as a part of a team environment; strong interpersonal skills.
- Experience in the social services or disability community highly preferred.
- Experience in performing arts, visual arts, film making or other creative background helpful.
- Minimum High School diploma with one years’ experience in the field of health or human services is required for this position. A BA/BS in human service, psychology, sociology, special education or related field is preferred
- Must have the ability to develop and write objectives, possess good English, written and oral communication skills, have the ability to develop teaching strategies and train staff. CPR and First Aid certifications are a condition of employment. Driver’s license and vehicle required.
