Cravings Cafe, a Vocational Training Program for adults with Intellectual Disabilities, is seeking an energetic, goal driven, positive individual to join our small team in a busy kitchen and gift shop setting.
We are looking for someone who exudes joy, enthusiasm, and truly has a love for teaching others.
Responsibilities and expectations of this Food Service position include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting Individuals with reaching their short- and long-term goals, as outlined in their ISA’s.
- Teaching basic cooking skills, such as baking, portioning, packaging, labeling, and cleaning.
- Making deliveries to contracted catering sites when necessary
- Attention to detail, consistency, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work with a caseload of 3-4 Individuals, without becoming frustrated and keeping Individual’s safety at forefront.
- Assist Kitchen Manager with serving packaged meals.
- Customer Service Skills, Cashiering.
- Maintain professionalism in the community and with participants; making sure Individuals always portray themselves in the absolute best light.
- Encourage positivity and model such behavior.
- Must be dependable, flexible, patient, consistent, and possess initiative and drive.
- Experience in Human Services/ IDD is required.
- Experience in food service is desired, but we can train the right candidate.
This position requires CPR/ First Aid certifications, among other trainings.
Criminal background, DCYF, and Driving Record checks are required.
Must be able to lift 50lbs
