Farm Assistant

Early mornings and some weekends needed for watering.
Overview:
The farm staff is a field labor and educational job. The farming aspects will include preparing the soil for growing, digging, mulching, field transplanting and planting, weeding by hand or with tools, irrigation, trellising, harvesting, washing and packaging produce for sale or donation, greenhouse production, basic tool and equipment cleaning, sanitation and maintenance. The job will also include leading groups of individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities who come to the farm. You will guide them to complete the assigned tasks, while educating them about farming practices.
Essential Job Functions:
Perform the physical labor of field preparation, planting, cultivating, weeding, mulching, etc.
Perform general farm upkeep.
Perform basic tool and equipment maintenance.
Follow farm safety, food safety, farm sanitation, and emergency procedures. Lead and educate visiting groups about farming practices.
Will work two days at TILL on the Go in Maynard and three days at the farm in Westboro.
Qualifications:
Ability to do manual labor and work outdoors. Ability to work independently and efficiently, as well as with a team. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Ability to work weekends as needed. Driver’s license and reliable vehicle required.
