INDEPENDENCE COACH
Description
TILL provides essential support to adults with developmental disabilities, learning differences, acquired brain injury, and other specialized needs through a wide range of housing options, from structured, staffed, small group living to individualized support options. The Independence Coach provides one-on-one support to a male individual to promote independence, daily living skills, and community engagement. This role involves both home-based and community-based support, including transportation and skill-building activities.
Schedule
This is a full-time position from Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. $21/hr.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the individual with morning routines and preparation for work
- Provide transportation to and from the TILL Farm
- Act as a support for the individual and others during activities at the farm
- Assist with errands, appointments, and community-based activities
- Support development of independent living skills, including organization and daily task management
- Encourage growth toward living independently in an apartment setting
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment at all times
- Implement appropriate safety care strategies as needed
Qualifications:
- Candidates must be 18 years of age or older.
- High School Diploma/GED is required.
- Valid driver's license, car insurance, and a reliable vehicle is required.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a 1:1 support setting.
- Experience working with individuals with behavioral needs.
- Good written and verbal skills to effectively communicate individual needs and objectives, as well as good interpersonal skills are required.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Dependable, patient, and community-oriented mindset.
