Overview:
The Residential Support Professional - Medical is an integral part of the residential service. They are responsible for working as a team member of the household. The specific duties of the Residential Support Professional - Medical will be those defined by the Residence Manager and Program Nurse. Position available in Bedford, MA. Mon-Wed 9am-3pm/Saturday 9am-11pm.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Residence Manager with the follow through of all individual medical and mental health treatment plans and medical orders.
- Assist in the development of new medical service procedures as needed.
- Maintain medical confidential files in accordance with agency and funding agency specifications.
- Schedules, attends and tracks all medical appointments.
- Oversees the proper storage and ordering of medications within the home.
- Prepare Medication Treatment Sheets each month prior to the start of the month and ensures a second staff verifies the sheet.
- To drive individuals to and from doctor’s appointments.
- Ensure medication standing orders and medication orders are filled properly and valid (signed yearly) at all times.
Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age or older.
A valid driver's license is required.
Must possess good written and verbal skills to effectively communicate individual needs and objectives.
Medication Certification, CPR and First Aid training are a condition of employment.
This position includes providing direct care for the individuals including lifting individuals, passive restraint, and hand-over-hand assistance.
