Gina Shulimson Honored as Supervisor of the Year
Congratulations to ETC Program Manager Gina Shulimson who received the Supervisor/Manager of the Year Award at the Providers’ Council 2025 Awards of Excellence. Before joining TILL 36 years ago, Gina Shulimson was a professional chef who worked in some of Boston’s finest restaurants and ran her own catering business. Despite her success, Gina felt that something was missing. “I thought cooking and eating should be a nurturing experience,” she recalled. “I heard that TILL was starting a catering business. That’s when I was able to use food and cooking to nurture.”
Today, Gina runs ETC’s busy food service program, which prepares and delivers 4,000 school meals weekly, and also is in charge of the café/gift shop. Gina is a mentor, role model, cheerleader and inspiration for her 22-person staff and the individuals who gain vocational experience through their work at ETC.
“People who get into human services typically say, ‘I did it because I like to help,’” says TILL Founder and CEO Dafna Krouk-Gordon, who nominated Gina for this award. “Gina puts a definition to those sentiments that go beyond belief. . She has managed a full-service catering business. Yet that is the end-product of combining her professional training as a chef to bring the most out of people by believing in them, supporting them, caring about how they are each day when they come into work. She truly goes above and beyond for her clients on all fronts: residential, social, and mental health.”
