After receiving his undergraduate degree from Clark University and graduate degrees from Boston College and Northeastern University, Joseph began working with adults with IDD, substance use disorders, court involved individuals-on probation or parole. He has also worked in several outpatient clinics in the Boston area, on a mobile crisis team, and served as a clinical director of residential and day programs. Joseph has treated mood disorders/impulse control issues applying DBT, CBT, MI, reality therapy, relaxation exercises using a person-centered approach with a focus on the here and now.
“My clinical approach is person centered with a focus on the here and now,” Joseph writes. “Strategies and models include role plays, CBT and DBT. Changing one's emotions and behaviors can be challenging however a positive outcome is very possible with a team approach.”
