Brigid received her undergraduate degree from Harvard University and graduate degrees in biology from MIT and social work from Boston University. Brigid has worked with adults over 20 (including seniors), drawing from CBT, ACT, interpersonal, DBT, SFT to treat MDD, GAD, adjustment d/o, PTSD, OCD, schizoaffective d/o, and bipolar d/o.
Brigid’s approach to treatment is empathetic, curious, and fairly active; “Our conversations help you to enhance understanding of yourself and those around you, and to develop practical skills that enable you to meet the goals that you establish”. Her sessions incorporate ideas from cognitive behavioral (particularly ACT), solution focused, interpersonal, and psychodynamic therapies. “They enable clients to develop a more complex story of how they got to where they are, identify patterns that do and don’t serve them well, and experiment with alternatives to find options that provide more positive results. Clients often increase their self-confidence and sense of agency within their lives.”
